macro-coach is a nutrition-tracking coach run by William Buck (“we”). It is invite-only and in beta. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Not medical advice
macro-coach gives general nutrition information and tracking. It is not medical, dietetic or psychological advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or registered dietitian. Talk to one before changing your diet if you are pregnant, under 18, have a medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating. Stop and get help if tracking food makes you anxious or unwell.
The coach is an AI. It can be wrong. Calorie and macro figures come from USDA data, published nutrition pages or what you type, but portions are estimates and published data varies. Check anything that matters.
Your account
One account per person, for your own use. Keep your password private; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 18 or older.
Subscription
- The subscription costs $8 a month or $60 a year, charged in advance through Stripe. There is no free trial.
- It renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Payments are non-refundable, including for partly used periods, except where the law requires otherwise.
- If a payment fails and isn't fixed, included access ends.
- We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect; it applies from your next renewal.
- The subscription includes the coach's AI within a fair-use allowance each calendar month. If you reach it, the AI coach pauses until the 1st of the next month; logging by tapping a saved meal, weigh-ins, quick commands and the dashboard keep working. There are also hourly and daily limits on AI messages and photos to prevent abuse.
Using your own AI account
If you connect your own Claude, ChatGPT, Anthropic or OpenAI account instead, that provider bills you directly under its own terms, and you are responsible for those charges.
Acceptable use
Don't try to break into or overload the service, get at other people's data, get around its limits, resell or share access, or use the coach for things unrelated to nutrition and weight tracking. We may suspend an account that does.
Ending
You can export your data and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close the service or your account; if we close the service while you have a paid period left, we will refund the unused part.
No warranty; limited liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and may be unavailable or lose data. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; we'll tell you in the app, and continuing to use the service means you accept the update. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
